The poppy is the ANZAC flower because there were heaps of paddocks with poppies.

2500 Maori soldiers went to war and 1000 died.

The ANZACs landed 1.6 km further north than they were meant to.

They used pigeons in the war as posties.

    We read a story about pigeons that were used in war. They were very clever because they carried messages and saved lives.
